Miners at Mongbwalu Hospital in Ituri province, North-eastern DRC. The miners work independently and without any  protections and often suffer debilitating injuries. The hopsital had these miners in  for treatment of TB. Others suffer from  other severe  respiritory illnesses. The miners often use mercury to seperate  gold from  other sediments and may be at risk from mercury exposure. The  hospital  strughles to treat for known diseases like TB and has no advanced equipment to  measure possible mercury poisoning..
