Kamengeri's Rock. "My grandfather told me this story. At the time I was ten and he was old like I am now. King Rwogero had a goatherd named Kamangeri and this goatherd was trading away the kings goats for cows. The king summoned Kamangeri to the palace and asked ' What would you do if if someone betrayed you?' Kamangere answered, ' I would heat a rock until it pulsed red. Then burn the man on the rock.' The king had villagers stoke fire on these rocks for 30 days. Then he summoned Kamengeri to his fate." - An old man. Photo by Brendan Bannon. Rwanda Feb 28, 2014
