A window at the now closed Imbabazi Orphange in Mugongo, Rwanda. Over 90 orphans were raised here under the oversight of founder Rosamund Halsey Carr. " The Red Cross tried to find our families. They’d take a photo of you and show it to different families. If a family signaled they know you then they would try to come to talk to you. They’d ask you where you lived, what you remember and they’d see if there is a relationship between you. Then you would leave the orphanage and join the family. But if you reached the family and found there was no opportunity to study you could turn back." - Claudia, an orphan raised by Ms. Carr at Imbabazi. Photo by Brendan Bannon. March 6, 2014.
